Alchemy World empowers young adults in East Africa to become successful business people that are financially self-sufficient and capable of employing others. Our objective is to alleviate poverty in the poorest communities. We achieve this through social entrepreneurship, focused education and a business support programme.
Through a nationwide network of 100 entrepreneurship centres within the next 15 years Alchemy World aims to enable 150 000 young people from extremely poor backgrounds to create their own mid-sized businesses. This will in turn generate 3 million quality jobs and boost Ethiopia's export revenue by an incremental 200 billion dollars.
Our business focus lies in the Technology and Services sectors - areas with the most promising future and greatest opportunities for sustainable, revenue-generating activities. Additionally, Alchemy World looks to stimulate rapid growth in the Small and Medium Enterprise Market across a multitude of industry sectors - including Agriculture, Media, Art, Construction, Engineering, Textiles and Tourism.
While our main focus is to deliver long-term solutions to eradicate poverty, Alchemy World also provides immediate support in the communities in which we work and where there is no support from other aid agencies. We strive to deliver holistic solutions within there communities addressing issues such as access to clean water, medical care, infrastructure, care for the elderly and nutritional support. Our NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) is headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Alchemy World forms Ethiopia's business leaders of the future.
Poverty and disease nowadays are a direct cause of a country with a negligible economy, which means no jobs. Alchemy World gets the poorest youths to set up their own business so that they can look after themselves, their families and their communities in a self sustainable manner. That means that in their villages famine becomes something never to be seen again.
